May

May, June, and July have seem to flown by and I realized I hadn't updated y'all in quite awhile! I have kept very busy in many ways! In May, Beto and I celebrated 1 year together and we went to place that had a treehouse and beautiful gardens!

Field Trips

My 1-3rd graders partnered with a local private school where they exchanged letters and then got to meet each other and go on a field trip to the school where they had a special activity! They got to eat breakfast together, play, partake in a chocolate fountain, and each student was given an English book!

The high schoolers also got to visit my International church for a play that they put on.  It was a Star Wars themed play and the kids did a great job and was a lot of fun!

Citizens of the Kingdom

We also started a club called, "Citizens of the Kingdom", this program is all about pouring into the kids their worth in Christ and also characteristics of Jesus and what He did for us! It has been a great time to get closer with the kids and share a more intimate time with them. This program focuses on 12-15 year olds.

June

June was also very busy as we first my friend Danna from Ecuador came here on a missions trip and Beto and I were able to meet up with her and also help out with the group! It was a very sweet time together!

We also had a retreat for all the staff at Give Dignity! It was a great time of fun, s'mores, laughter, mental health, and renewal in Christ and fellowship! We also went into a beautiful cabin in the mountains! It was a great break away from all the craziness and a time to renew our minds and souls.

My parents were also able to come visit! My mom came for a longer time and my dad joined for a weekend! My mom had a cafecito (coffee time) with Beto's family, helped me in my classes, we went to the beach, and had a great meal at a garden restaurant!

July

July was probably the craziest of all! haha I had an intern tha came to live with me for a month. I went to camp with my international church and 4 of my students were able to go to camp in English! It was a great time with the kids for them to have 4 days in English and also to learn more about Christ.

After that, a group of missionaries came from Nampa, Idaho and helped us with our VBS camps. The kids have 2 weeks off in July so that is how we are able to do camp and VBS clubs during this time! The team had great skits, games, songs, and snacks! It is always great when the team from the US comes as we build deeper relationships with them and the kids! We also had a youth activity where we watched the movie "Overcomer" and had a Saturday morning breakfast and devotional!

Prayer Requests

  • Students: For the kids to understand Jesus' love for them and that it's a free gift
  • Personal: Rest and that I would do some self care that renews me.
  • Relationship: Beto and I would point one another to Christ and serve the other.
  • Financial support: I am in need of an additional $400 per month.
  • Family: My sister just moved into a new house so prayers that she will settle in!

Praise Reports

  • I submitted all my paperwork to process my religious visa and now I am just waiting for it's approval!
  • God provided the money necessary for my visa and lawyer even though i'm not sure from where!
  • 2 of my students Josnier and Andrea accepted Christ! They are both in 3rd grade.

Financial Update

God has truly provided and I fully trust that He will provide for all my needs! I have been here 2 years now and I have not been without basic necesities! If you would like to partner with me and feel led I am in need of $400 more per month to continue to cover my expenses!
